In the real estate world, the month of December is sometimes referred to as "Dead December" because the majority of buyers and sellers decide to wait until the holidays are over before embarking on their next purchase or sale. Makes sense... for most home buyers/sellers. The shrewd investor, however, knows December is the month to scoop up even better deals and capitalize on the minimal competition out there. Banks still list their foreclosure inventory in December... Homeowners who have to move still list their homes in December... and if you're one of the few frogs still hopping around in that cold pond, you will have your pick of the prime lily pads.
